This listing is for one handmade "Trinity" Trinitite Ring. With this custom ring, you can take your favorite crystals with you wherever you go and add a modern look to it. When you place an order, we make your ring specifically for you here in our shop in Colorado.
Our Trinity ring is made with 100% real Trinitite aka Atomsite. As there is only a limited amount left in the world, once it is gone, there can never be more. As the site is also now closed to the public and collecting is no longer allowed, this makes Trinitite a very rare and amazing piece of history.
On July 16, 1945 at 5:30am the world changed when the Trinity Test took place in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This test was the worlds first nuclear bomb test marking the start of the atomic age! A group of observers including Robert and Frank Oppenheimer looked on as the test begun. Detonated on a 100-foot tower, the device released 18.6 kilotons (equivalent to 18,000 tons of TNT) of power instantly vaporizing the tower it sat atop. The ensuing 1/2 mile wide fireball drew the surrounding sand and minerals from the blast up into itself and instantly melted it and the surrounding area with a temperature 10,000 times hotter than the surface of the sun. The material then rained down in liquid form before solidifying into what we now call Trinitite. The resulting crater filled with this amazing crystal was buried not long after the explosion for security reasons.
The material we use for this ring is in very high demand and at the moment, we have very limited stock.
We take crystals of varying sizes and crystal powder then creatively place them throughout by hand, making each ring one-of-a-kind and completely unique. After your ring is made, we apply a thin layer of high quality, crystal-clear hard resin over the inlay to protect your stones and waterproof the ring. We then polish the ring to a glass-like finish.
